Our Mission.
Our mission at Mental Health Movement is to empower rangatahi (young people) to have more understanding and agency over their mental health.
Our values.
Unity is all about having shared responsibility, community, unity of a shared goal, everyone having mental health, that people shouldn’t feel isolated, as well as inclusivity.
The concept of Tuakana Teina is to learn from one another (the older teaching the younger and the younger teaching the older).
Auahatanga is creativity. All about being able to explore how we express, acknowledge, and explore mental health through various forms of creativity.

Join us for our FIRST community event – a short film by Creative Director Caleb McNicholl explores the art of noticing and being noticed and the impact that has on your mental health.
The short film follows the story of a young man experiencing isolation and the impact of kindness from strangers to showcase that you’re never alone; it is important to notice, and it is important to be kind to everyone you come across; everyone has a story.
Join Caleb and Bradley from the Mental Health Movement team, along with Matiu, Nikou, and Levi, who star in the film, for a night of community, connection, and vulnerability.
