Open Letter to the Minister
Mental Health Matters Founder Bradley Mutch recently penned a letter to the education minister, calling on the government to prioritise Mental Health within the newly proposed Health and Physical Education curriculum.
The letter was signed by over 2,000 New Zealanders and organisations like Voices of Hope and Gen Z Aotearoa.

Background
At the end of 2025, Mental Health Matters started a petition, asking for signatures to Prioritise Mental Health within the New Zealand Curriculum.
The petition has over 2,100 signatures and was published on Wednesday 22nd April 2026 with also the support of the Mental Health Foundation, Voices of Hope, and Gen Z Aotearoa.
Green MP Kahu Carter also supported the letter and presented it to the Minister.
